In the dying moments, unbridled joy erupted for Chelsea and caretaker boss Calum McFarlane as Enzo Fernández bundled in a dramatic equaliser. The goal left Pep Guardiola ranting in frustration and provided the temporary Chelsea manager a career-defining moment. On paper, Guardiola versus McFarlane represented the Premier League's greatest managerial mismatch in class, making the recollection of Fernández's crucial intervention one to cherish the 40-year-old for years to come.

A Glaring Contrast in Experience

On the City bench was the era's defining coach, a man with 40 trophies for football's giants Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, taking charge of his 1,012th match. In the opposite technical area, stood a former coach at non-league sides Croydon and Whyteleafe, who had worked in City's own academy and stepped up to make his senior managerial bow after being seconded from his regular role guiding Chelsea's youth teams.
